“…had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
1 Corinthians 2:8

Welcome to the Elijah Project.

The Elijah Project has only one purpose:  Sound Biblical Teaching.   It is my firm belief that scripture interprets scripture, that the Word of God aptly explains itself and that no other book, documentary, commentary. collection of documents or governing body is necessary to read, understand, comprehend and apply the scriptures.

There is absolutely no such thing as “another testament” of Jesus Christ, a “second gospel” or “lost books” of the bible.  The bible is complete as written and is intended to be understood as “line upon line”, “precept upon precept”, “here a little and there a little”.   (Isaiah 28:10-13).  Plainly speaking:   Scripture interprets scripture and builds upon itself.  Nothing else is needed to understand and comprehend the Bible!
The Challenge and the Call

A Personal Challenge for You

I have no expectation that you will agree with every teaching lesson or series presented on this site.  I do expect, however that you will become a Berean Christian (Acts 17) who “…searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”   I think we can all agree that “opinion” doesn’t matter, supposition or superstition doesn’t matter. Grandpa’s, Mama’s or Daddy’s teaching doesn’t matter unless it is a scripture upon scripture, line upon line, idea upon idea, pure bible-based teaching.  The question to ask yourself is: What does the Bible really say

Much of the teaching you’ll find on The Elijah Project doesn’t readily fit into today’s postmodern theology.  I simply refuse to embrace or to accept the false gospels of greed, covetousness and humanism which are being taught today.   “Name it and claim it”, “Positivie Confession”, “Manifest Destiny” and other shameless perversions of scripture are what Paul described in Galatians 1 as “another gospel”.

The teaching found on The Elijah Project is, by many standards, old-fashioned, but please allow me to issue you a challenge:  Test the teaching to see if it is indeed “line upon line”, “precept upon precept”, “scripture building upon scripture”.   If you happen to disagree with the teaching, write your own thesis, using the scriptures alone, listing your points of contention with my teaching, then, let’s have a civil discussion.   “Iron sharpeneth iron…”  (Proverbs 27:17)

The Facts

Immutable Facts Concerning the Word of God

Regardless of your current beliefs or your approach to the Bible, there are several unchangeable facts:

  •  The Word of God is True: All of it!
  •  The Word of God is infallible. If you don’t understand a portion of scripture, it is not the bible that is at fault, it is either your personal comprehension and understanding that is at fault OR you have failed to reconcile scripture with scripture.
  •  ALL scripture is profitable for us: Both Old and New Testaments.
  •  ALL scripture is important to us: from Genesis to Revelation, and it builds upon itself from beginning to end.
  • The Word of God is not written as a textbook from which you can progress your understanding by reading book by book in sequential order.  It also is not possible to gather all necessary scriptures that pertain to your personal walk with Christ by reading only a few chapters straight through. The Word of God is exactly as was written in Isaiah: It is presented as line upon line and precept upon precept. A little is presented here and a little is presented there from BOTH the Old Testament and the New Testament! This is properly termed: “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth”.  In other words, it is the concepts and principles of scripture which build upon one another.
  • Not every matter of understanding or teaching is a Salvation Issue! There are many beliefs about certain issues that have nothing to do with salvation. (For example: do you believe in a rapture? Pre, Mid, or Post Tribulation? It is simply not a salvation issue, unless you aren’t ready when Jesus comes, then your belief becomes irrelevant.)
  •  Without Jesus, it doesn’t really matter what you believe, you’re lost anyway.
  •  Without holiness, you’ll never see God.
  •  Sound doctrine is not based upon feeling, personal perception or any other humanistic element. It matters very little what you “think” is right or what you “feel in your heart”.   Sound doctrine is based solely and purely on the written, unadulterated, Word of God and is derived by reconciling scripture with scripture.

Conclusion

Study the Bible for yourself!

It is my sincere desire that you will not only read the teaching, but that you will Study the Word of God for yourself.  Don’t assume that because it’s on the internet or because you read a handful of scripture on the site which might make sense that the matter is conclusive for you.   Study the Bible for yourself.  If the teaching presented on this site “provokes you to study” your Bible for yourself, then the goal has been accomplished. That’s exactly what I have intended to do.

It may be that after you honestly study the bible for yourself, you will walk away and disagree with what I’ve taught, however, one thing is certain: You will have studied it and will have determined what YOU personally believe to be true.

Thanks for visiting The Elijah Project.   I hope you come back soon.
